Tell us about your time at MCCA!
Hi! I am Chase Bishop, I came to MCCA 2 years ago to perform in our production of Newsies Jr. and ever since then. I have been a member of the Pre Professional program. My time at MCCA has really helped me grow out of my shell. I’ve never been shy by any means, but I was definitely a little timid when it came to meeting new people. However, this group of people immediately accepted me as I was and have helped me grow into who I am today. My favorite memories at MCCA include performing 13! Jr. on the main stage at JTF and the days preceding it as we were all excitedly preparing for it. MCCA to me is the first place where I have ever felt I can truly be myself and I am so glad that I was able to spend the last years of my youth with the best teachers, mentors, friends, and family ever.
Describe your senior year in three words.
Awesome, Stressful, Exciting
If you could change one school rule, what would it be?
I’d probably make it so that we could carry backpacks around again. Holding my books everyday was annoying and I often left them behind in other classes.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Hopefully doing something in the arts, I’d like to continue performing, or maybe start working in the film industry.
What is the most challenging task as a senior?
Realizing that the world is bigger than the distance from Cumberland to Frostburg, and reconciling my hopes of being able to keep things the same with my dreams of living life to the fullest.
I am most grateful for…
My teachers. Without the many teachers I have at MCCA I never would’ve continued performing. Having Coty practically make me do Newsies and Jacki be so kind to me during Freaky Friday really set me up to keep working hard.
What is your dream college and why?
NYU because it is very near Broadway as well as having a thriving and successful film program.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would move to the Italian countryside. I just think it is beautiful, I would want to own a ranch on a big open field and have a porch that wraps around the entire house.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!
I was in football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and track before deciding that maybe sports weren’t my thing.
Who is your favorite band?
Easily The Smiths
