MCCA MAGIC!

Hi MCCA family! My name is Quinn Stark and I am the outreach coordinator here at Mountain City Center for the Arts! We are so excited to introduce our new “Magic” performance group this semester! We are already having such an amazing first session full of talent, growth, and excitement!

The MCCA Magic mission is to cultivate a brave space in which the students can: 

• Work with team members in a professional and respectful manner

• Develop life skills, become independent thinkers, creative explorers, and develop a deeper understanding of commitment and dedication to performing arts training

• Foster empathy and compassion with fellow team members 

• Apply vocal, dance, and acting skills learned in MCCA classes to live performances and events

• Rehearse and perform in a variety of events in the community

In this group, you will have the opportunity to perform at a variety of events such as: 

the Frostburg Halloween Parade, Frostburg Arts Walk, Storybook Holiday, Frostburg Tree Lighting, workshops/performances in schools, community outreach and volunteer opportunities, and of course, showcases! It is open to all MCCA students ages 4 and up (must be enrolled in at least one training class at MCCA)

Our “Magic” students have been working so hard on their set for the Frostburg Halloween parade kick-off! This year’s theme is a family-favorite: TROLLS! This electric set is full of music, movement, fun, and excitement! We cannot WAIT to show you all the hard work our students (and staff!) have been putting in to create a magical experience for you all!

Please join us at the corner of Main St. and Broadway on October 29th at 5:45 pm for this AMAZING performance!

MCCA has been performing the kick-off since the very beginning of 2013! We look forward to this every year, and would love for you to join us for our next exciting endeavor during the Holiday season! We will be kicking off the most exciting day of the Frostburg year- Storybook Holiday! We also have a full lineup of other holiday performances and volunteer opportunities!
